About District
North 24 Parganas is the most populous district of West Bengal. According to the census report, it is considered the tenth largest district in the country. Barasat is the district headquarter of North 24 Parganas. The district have five subdivisions Barasat, Barrackpore, Bangaon, Basirhat and Bidhannagar . The district is bounded by Nadia district to the north, South 24 Parganas to the south, Bangladesh to the east, and Hooghly district and Kolkata to the west.
