Homestay Application
- How to apply:
- Home stay application to be submitted to the District Magistrate North 24 Parganas along with documents.
- After due verification & inspection of Homestay sites, the District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas will issue Home stay Registration for 3 years at a time.
- Renewal of Registration also be done by the District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas.

Tourism Potential In North 24 Paraganas
1. Machranga Dweep (Island) at Taki :
The place is very important for the tourist as it is situated at the junction of river Ichhamati and river Katakhal. It is very lonely and attractive to the tourist for its natural beauty. It is also very nearest Border point of Bangladesh from North 24 Parganas.
To make it more attractive to the tourists it is necessary to set up some components like Jetty, Picnic Spot, Plantation, Security arrangement, Land development, Internal pavement, Embankment protection, etc. It is highly recommended for introduction of ferry service from Taki Rajbari ghat to Machranga Deep.
2. Mini Sundarban or Golpata Forest at Taki (Sundarban Bio-Diversity and Interpretation Centre) :
The place is very important for the tourist as it is situated at the bank of river Ichhamati, Indo-Bangladesh border. It is very lonely and attractive to the tourist for its natural beauty as the forest is of Mangrove plants like Sundari, Garan, Gewon, Gol, Keora, etc. It is more important for the tourist in security point of views because there are a B.S.F. camp in front of the forest. There is a very beautiful Canopy way and a incomplete watch tower. There are almost 600.0 Acres of Land.
To make it more attractive to the tourist it is necessary to set up some components like Jetty, Picnic Spot, Plantation, Fencing, Land development, Internal pavement, Embankment protection, etc. It isrecommended for introduction of ferry service from Taki Rajbari ghat to Mini Sundarban and toy train facilities. It is highly recommended for set up a Deer conservation project within the forest to make it more attractive for tourist.
3. Taki Kuleswari Kalibari :
It is a very ancient temple dedicated to goddess Kali. Many tourist visit the place during the year. The temple is almost 300 years old. The Tourism Department, Govt of West Bengal had sanctioned amount Rs. 44,67328.00 for Beautification and Protection of heritage building & Temple at Kuleswari. But some part of work like community toilet and pilgrim shade has been constructed under the fund B.A.D.P. by the department P.W.D., Govt. of W.B. A revised estimate for rest of the project Rs. 34,10,338.00 has been sent to the Tourism Department, Govt of West Bengal.
Needs to renovate the ancient temple as well as the boundary adjacent road, electrical works, adjacent pond.

6. Puber Jomidar Bari at Taki :
Puber Jomidar Bari is one of the two very oldest Raj palace in this Region. There are some antique collection in the Rajbari. The building is very ancient and it could be one of the prime tourist attraction in Taki. Now many tourists visit the place.
Needs to renovate the building, plantation, beautification. A museum may be found in this Palace.
7. Sehera Dweep (Island) under Hingulgunj Development Block :
This is a growing island between the Sandeshkhali 1 and Hingulgunj Development Block in the Ghatihara river. It is near Kumirmari Island under Rupmari GP of Hingulgunj Block. The island is covered by deep Mangrove Forest. Many migratory birds used to come throughout the year.
It can be a famous tourist destination through well planned design and beautification. Ferry ghats may be established in Sehera Dweep and Chhoto Sehera Dweep.
8. Beri Panchpota Eco-Tourism :
In Beri Panchpota Eco-Tourism have five horse-shape lake at Gaighata Block in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The “Beri Baor” (Lake) probably the biggest ox-bow lake in the India. It is a beautiful weekend gate-away from Kolkata for one day or more to Nature Lover people. This beautiful tourist spot located near Bangladesh Border. This mirror type clean water surface of the lake and greenery cover village environment gives the peaceful look. The biggest lake was a part of Ichhamati river, later the river took a turn and leave some water surface now is self-dependent water body called ‘Baor’. It is to be heard that once it was a port. The king Pratapaditya came here through the river Ichhamati. Now, other Bank of the river is Bangladesh.
Also in this tourism, which is available the green horizon expanded to all over the locality. Mustered field are called the tourist mind. The chirping of various birds will attract the nature lover heart. They will forget their gruff mind. While watching the 250 years old Shiv temple beside ‘Nil Kuthi’ tourist lung will fulfill with two country lucid air. The evening boating on lake added the cherry on the cake and the Ramkrishna Mission in the greenery and there environment will destroy the tourist loneliness. So, it may expect that the “Beri Panchpota Eco-Tourism” is a good place for weekend gate-away from Kolkata.
